THE LINCOLN MODEL SCHOOL at the Lincoln Institute, Lincoln Ridge, Kentucky, built in 1916 by members of the Lincoln Institute's Department of Carpentry. Operated jointly by the county and the Institute, the school served as "both a consolidated colored school and the practice and model school for Lincoln Institute," wrote State Agent for Rural Schools F.C. Button.
