Organizational History: Health Research Fund, Inc. was incorporated in 1936 for the primary purpose of conducting research in connection with medicine and public health. Incorporators of the organization, which was renamed the Health Research Fund, Inc. in 1937, were Thomas M. Rivers, John Torrey, Currier McEwen, Michael Heidelberger, and William H. Park.
